hearts and brains

I was thinking about this and had a conversation with a good friend about it yesterday, hearts and brains. Without a brain, you’re dead, and without a heart you’re dead.

But

Isn’t it funny how with emotions the heart ignores what the brain says?
(or sometimes…its the other way around)

Yet without either one of them, you cease to exist.

nice one dude. its a common problem and I've thought about it too. Being in both situations, where the brain and heart are directly opposed to each other. but its just a theory. what if it doesn't matter?

maybe all we need to do is make a decision. even if its the wrong one. i figure we spend so much time worrying about if its right or wrong vs want to or not. when we could just go ahead and do it and just use the time to deal with consequences. of course this must be taken in context and i am not talking about doing something really bad! but just a theory...

hey..very true..
sometimes i wish my heart would just look the other way and let me make the rational decisions :)
but i beleive whatever decision you do make, it was the one you were meant to follow.

it reminds me of a song.

Dil humko kabhi samjathe he, hum dil ko kabhi samjathe he.

Roughly translated it means, sometimes our heart reasons with us and sometimes we have to reason with our heart.

id rather have a headache than a heartache though. But i think heartache is psychosomatic, thats a topic for another the day

us men use an additional factor in our decision making

so i guess that complicates it even more

ok...but what we're talking about is the figurative heart...because the physical heart in the words of that great womaniser Christiaan Barnaard "is just a pump".

When people say heart and soul...what do they mean?

Do mentally disabled people who are in a vegetative state, (i'm think here of people with severe cerebral palsy or similar), who have no meaningful interaction with other people....do they have hearts?

What are your thoughts on this?
